Sabine Knierbein

Sabine Knierbein Dr. phil. Europäische Urbanistik, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Freiraumplanung/ Landschaftsarchitektur. Seit Dezember 2008 ist Sabine Knierbein mit der inhaltlichen Entwicklung des Interdisciplinary Centre for Urban Culture and Public Space, dem strukturellen Aufbau und Management sowie der akademischen Netzwerkbildung auf europäischer und internationaler Ebene betraut. Seit November 2011 hat sie die Laufbahnstelle für Stadtkultur und öffentlicher Raum an der Technischen Universität inne.

Sabine Knierbein is assistant professor (tenure track) and the director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Urban Culture and Public Space, Faculty of Architecture and Planning at the Vienna University of Technology. She holds a diploma in Landscape Architecture and a Ph.D. in European Urban Studies. She has worked on public spaces for fifteen years, and has published in English, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Her current research interests include: Public Space Epistemology, Space as Facilitator for Intercultural Education, Rhythms, Speeds and Pressures of Urban Development, Translation of relational theory for public space education and practice Contact — knierbein [at] skuor.tuwien.ac.at
