Karin Norman

Karin Norman is professor of Social anthropology at Stockholm University. Her research concerns socialization processes and childhood, with a focus on transformations of family and kinship. In that context, issues of migration and transnational relations have become central through an early study of Albanian refugees in Sweden in the 1990s. This has subsequently led her research to Kosovo. She also has an interest in issues of the material and spatial aspects of social life, not least the meanings and uses of house and home. She has conducted fieldwork in Germany, Sweden and Kosovo. Contact: karin.norman [at] soocant.su.se
